    Fund raiser for M-W High School Scholarships

    Designer Bag Bingo will be part of the fun on Friday, Oct. 4, when the Monroe Rotary sponsors a scholarship fundraiser at Monroe Presbyterian Church, 142 Stage Road, Monroe. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and Bingo starts at 7 p.m.

    The $40 entry fee buys 10 games. There will also be chances to win door prizes, 50/50 and tricky trays. Wine and beer will be available to purchase, but participants are asked to bring snacks for their table.

    Fund raiser for Eagle Scout Project

    A pancake breakfast on Saturday, Sept. 28, will help support AJ Roberts’ Troop 440 Eagle Scout project. Roberts plans to put up flag poles at Monroe Town Hall.

    The breakfast, to be held at Town Hall, 1465 Orange Turnpike, will be served from 8-11:30 a.m. The cost is $8 per person.

    Rock the School House

    Sacred Heart School in Monroe will present “School House Rock 2” featuring the New York City band Midnight Sun on Saturday, Sept. 28, at the school auditorium.

    Doors open at 6 p.m. Show time is 7-10 p.m.

    Tickets are $15 in advance, $20 at the door.

    Beer, wine, frozen margaritas, food trucks, 50/50 raffle and door prizes will also be offered. For tickets, call the school office at 845-783-0365.

    Run for Fun

    The YMCA Run for Fun, sponsored by Todd Lyons Paving, will be held Oct. 5 from 9 a.m.-noon at the South Orange Y, 45 Gilbert St. Ext. in Monroe.

    Races include a 5K Color Run for those age 7 and older ($30 entry fee through Oct. 4 or $35 on race day) and Kids Color Dash ($12 through Oct. 4 or $15 on race day).

    You can also organize friends and family for a team challenge to honor a loved or promote your business ($150 for teams of up to 5 members; $250 for teams of 6-10 members).

    A post-race barbecue is free for runners and children 4 and under, $7 for ages 5-11, and $10 for ages 10 and older.
