    Monroe. Sacred Heart Church hold its annual blood drive-in

    On Sunday, Jan. 31, 2021, the Christian Service Committee of Sacred Heart Church is holding its their annual blood drive from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

    The church is located at 26 Still Road in Monroe.

    This is a critical time of year when blood supply is very low. Please be generous and stop by to give a lifesaving pint of blood.

    A 16-year-old may donate with a parent’s permission. Persons 75 years and older need a doctor’s permission.

    Face masks and social distancing will be required.

    Goshen. COVID-19 vaccination information request form now available

    A vaccination information request form is now available for completion on the Orange County website for those individuals wishing to receive the COVID-19 vaccine as it becomes available.

    As a reminder, the COVID-19 vaccine is currently being rolled out to specific groups in phases defined by the New York State Department of Health.

    Monroe. Clothing and houseware collection to benefit Sonshine Boutique at Sacred Heart Church

    Immaculate Heart Academy students Natalie DiLorenzo and Ciara Walsh have organized a donation drive to collect new or gently used clothing and houseware items to benefit the Sonshine Boutique at Sacred Heart Church.

    Electronic items cannot be accepted.

    There is a collection bin in the lobby of the upper level of the Monroe Town Hall building, located at 1465 Orange Turnpike, for those interested in supporting Natalie and Ciara’s service project efforts.

    Monroe. Blood drive to be held Feb. 5 at South Orange Family YMCA

    State Sen. James Skoufis and the New York Blood Center are hosting a blood drive at the South Orange Family YMCA in Monroe on Friday, Feb. 5, from noon to 6 p.m.

    There is an urgent and dire need for blood donations in New York State right now due to the pandemic.

    Eligible donors are encouraged to participate and/or spread the word.

    Goshen. Heather Bell to serve as interim president of the Orange County Chamber of Commerce

    Marcel Martino, chairman of the Board of Directors of the Orange County Chamber of Commerce, issued the following statement on Saturday, Jan. 23:

    Effective immediately, Lynn Allen Cione is no longer employed as President and CEO of the Orange County Chamber of Commerce. We thank her for her service.

    Director of Membership Heather Bell will serve as Interim President and CEO.

    Your Board of Directors will immediately begin a national search for a replacement in order to ensure that we find the best fit for our business community and the Chamber.
