In his monthly message to town residents, Monroe Supervisor Tony Cardone provided the following own update:

The Town of Monroe has been awarded $85,000 in funding through the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) to use for ADA improvements at the Town Hall Building.

In addition, the town was recently reimbursed $400,000 through the Department of Transportation’s New York State Capital Assistance Program for road improvements that were made to Lake Region Boulevard and School Road last year.

‘”This grant was made possible through the efforts of the late Senator Bill Larkin,” Cardone wrote in his monthly update. “Our Highway Department is putting the finishing touches on the Rye Hill Road Improvement Project and we are awaiting an update on grant reimbursement for this project as well. In addition, work is being completed on the HVAC replacement at the Senior Center as well as the ADA compliant, automated doors at this building, both funded through a recent CDBG award.”
