Troop 440 Scout members Cody and Michael Shapiro recently held their Eagle Scout Award Ceremony at Monroe Town Hall where they were recognized for their achievements and contributions to the Town of Monroe community.

Cody focused his Eagle Scout project efforts on building ten picnic tables, four of which are handicap accessible for Mombasha Park. He said he was inspired to create seating for this town-owned property to allow for an area for residents to gather while enjoying use of the park.

Michael focused his Eagle Scout project efforts on the construction of a paver patio at the Monroe Volunteer Ambulance Corps building.

“We are grateful.” town officials said in recognizing the Eagle Scouts’ endeavors, “for the ongoing efforts of Troop 440 and the many projects that have been completed for the benefit of the Town of Monroe community.”
