Monroe. Library extends closure indefinitely

When the Monroe Free Library closed due to the coronavirus pandemic in early March, it was with the hope its doors would be open again in short order. Since then, the quarantine has been extended for all public gatherings, so there is no date set for re-opening.

However, the library staff would like to remind the public that many online services are still up and running:

    · Have a research question? Email info@monroefreelibrary.org. A librarian will assist you in tracking down the resources you need.

    · The library’s digital collection is available 24/7. The collection includes ebooks, audiobooks and video content. Access it through the Libby App on your phone or tablet.

    · The library’s databases, including the Rosetta Stone Language Learning Suite, is also available through the Libby App.

    · Useful resources are also posted almost daily on the library’s Facebook page. This includes things like virtual museum tours, distance learning courses and useful websites for homeschooling.

Meanwhile, if you have library books or other materials that are overdue, keep them until the quarantine is ended. All late fines have been suspended. As soon as a date for reopening is set, it will be announced here and through email, the library website and its Facebook page.
