The Monroe Downtown Revitalization Committee held a forum at Javajo’s Coffee Bar on Sunday, May 23, to discuss plans for downtown dining.

In the Summer and Fall of 2020, Monroe’s outdoor dining was very well attended. Participating restaurants included Amendola’s, Planet Pizza, LoveBites and Plum House. Live music took place on Saturday evenings and the dining event concluded with a Fall Festival featuring local dancers, musicians, martial arts and a costume contest.

The downtown dining forum was attended by volunteers from the Monroe Downtown Revitalization Committee, members of the Chamber of Commerce, local officials from the Town of Monroe and Village of Monroe, and members of the board of the Monroe Free Library.

The committee is encouraging the Village of Monroe and local businesses to continue with the very popular outdoor dining event in Summer of 2021.
