Monroe-Woodbury Girl Scouts will hold their annual “drive-by” Soldier Support Day on Sunday, Nov. 14, on the grounds of American Legion Post 488 from noon to 2 p.m.

This year’s theme is “Snack Attack for Soldiers.” Organizers are requesting non-perishable snacks in addition to cards and letters to send to active duty service personnel.

The girls would also welcome monetary donations to help with postage costs to get these items to their final destinations.

Examples of welcomed non-perishable snacks are granola bars, popcorn, dried fruit, trail mix, nuts and pretzels.

“We have been doing this for years, but last year we switched to an outdoor ‘drive-by’ event due to COVID-19,” said Monroe-Woodbury Girl Scout Volunteer Service Unit Manager Barbara Mallory. “This is possible thanks to our friends at the American Legion. We invite everyone to stop by ... you don’t have to even get out of your car. Our troop members are ready to assist with your kind donations, which will certainly but a smile on the faces of recipients.”
