Monroe-Woodbury High School Class of 2019 member Christian Hess was among those recognized at Assemblyman Colin Schmitt’s inaugural 99th Assembly District Students of Achievement event on June 10.
Each school district in the 99th Assembly District was asked to nominate one student who stands out and is worthy of recognition.
Nominees included students who have made a lasting impression on teachers and school officials and have contributed positively to the school community as a whole.
“Christian has made a difference on many levels while he has been a student in the district,” said Superintendent of Schools Elsie Rodriguez. “He has helped strengthen communication between administrators and students and has been a positive influence and role model. We will miss Christian next year and wish him well. We know he will go on to do great things!”
Assemblyman Colin Schmitt stated: “Our Assembly District has some amazing students that not only work hard in the classroom but also make positive contributions to the community as a whole. Our schools are filled with extraordinary young people that seek to do their best, serve as role models to their peers and contribute positively to their schools and communities. The Students of Achievement event is a great way to recognize the accomplishments and contributions of these students in our community.”
