    Town of Monroe holds public hearing Oct. 7 on amendments to town code

    The Monroe Town Board will hold a public hearing Monday, Oct. 7, beginning at 7 p.m. at the Monroe Senior Center, located at 101 Mine Road.

    The public hearing concerns the preparation of a draft generic environmental impact statement regarding proposed amendments to Chapter 57 of the Town Code with respect to Special Planning District and Conservation Cluster Residential Floating Zone.

    The draft scope is available online at www.monroeny.org and at the Town Clerk's Office, 1465 Orange Turnpike, Monroe.

    The town will accept written comments until 4 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 25.

    Monroe Joint Park & Recreation Commission to meet Oct. 8

    The Monroe Joint Park & Recreation Commission has scheduled a special meeting for Tuesday, Oct 8, at 7 p.m., in the Smith's Clove Park Meeting Room, 133 Spring St., Monroe.

    On the agenda is the playground project update.
