Philip V. Yosso of Monroe passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2020, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was 86 years old.

The son of Ida Yosso and Carmine Yosso, he was born on April 28, 1934, in New York City and grew up in Brooklyn.

Philip made his residence in Monroe for the last 45 years.

Phil worked in the printing industry until the mid-80’s when he found employment as a custodian for the Monroe-Woodbury School District. Students, staff and faculty appreciated his work ethic and his sense of humor.

Philip was happiest spending time with his family. He was a natural storyteller, loved baseball, a good mystery and country music. Anyone who strolled past his home invariably received a cheerful wave and greeting, and many stopped to chat.

Philip is survived by his wife of 51 years, Phyllis, daughter Sabina Yosso and son Philip Yosso, both of Middletown. He is also survived by his sisters Anne (Louis) Rettagliata of Brooklyn and Marie (Frank) Catrini of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
