Kevin D. Wynne passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, Dec. 26, 2021. He was 66 years old. He was born in Bronx, N.Y., and after marrying Deborah Hardy, lived in Dobbs Ferry, N.Y. He has been a resident of Monroe, NY for the past 25 years.

Kevin grew up in the Bronx, and in Yonkers. He attended Iona College, playing on the Iona Ice Hockey team, and graduating with an accounting degree. After college, Kevin worked in accounting and finance, recently retiring from the Hotel Thayer at West Point, N.Y., as a financial officer. Kevin was an athlete in his youth, growing into an avid sports fan, enthusiastically supporting the NY Jets, although his favorite activity was watching his daughter Kaylyn play basketball. Kevin was a formidable man who could be heard cheering above all other voices, making his opinions known, but to us, he was a warm and loving brother, husband, uncle, father, and friend. When not working, Kevin could be found driving his Jeep, walking his dogs, or cooking. Every family gathering included long awaited dishes that only he could make to perfection.

Kevin leaves behind his devoted wife Deborah Wynne; brother John Wynne and his wife Kathleen; sister Mary Beth Leggett and her husband Paul; and sister-in-law Sharon Hardy. He is additionally survived by his nieces and nephews: Daniel Wynne and his wife Tara; Karen D’Errico and her husband Marc; Paul Leggett, Julia Leggett, and numerous family members in Canada.

Kevin was predeceased by his parents John P. and Eleanor N. (nee Stone) Wynne; and by his daughter Kaylyn Amy Wynne.

Cremation took place at Cedar Hill Crematory. Services will be private, at the convenience of the family.

Memorial donations in Kevin’s name may be made to the Blooming Grove Humane Society, 2741 Route 94, Washingtonville, NY 10992 www.humanesocietybg.com.
