Joseph W. ‘Bill’ Price

| 19 Jan 2021 | 12:09

Bill, as most people knew him, passed from this life at home in Blooming Grove with his family on Thursday, Jan. 14, 2021, at the age of 77 years, after his battle with lung cancer.

Bill was born in Richmond, Virginia, to Joseph and Charlotte Price, both of whom preceded him in death.

Anyone who knew Bill knew him as a fun-loving, hard-working man who was devoted to his family. He was an extra high voltage line foreman with Orange and Rockland Utilities, a job he truly loved and took pride in doing.

Bill was an avid outdoorsman. He especially enjoyed hunting and ice fishing. He was a multi-faceted man whom we take great pride in calling our own.

We will miss his smile and his unhurried support.

His wife Karen of 55 years, and his children Barbara Singer and Michael Price will miss him forever, as will his two grandsons, Robert and Nicholas Singer. “We were his world, and he ours.”

Bill is also survived by his sisters: Jean Lewis of Washingtonville and Mona Saturno (Bill), also of Washingtonville, in addition to his brother George (Glenna) of New Hampton; and several nieces and nephews.

Interment of Bill’s cremains were held Jan. 26, at the Orange County Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Goshen, with Military Honors by the United States Marine Corps.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made in Bill’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (www.stjude.org) or to Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties, Inc. (www.hospiceoforange.com).
