Jose J. Rios of Newburgh passed away on Thursday, Sept. 16, 2021, at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx. He was 71 years old.
The son of Juan Rios and Haydee Aviles Rios, he was born on April 2, 1950, in the Bronx.
He was a retired District Manager for the Chrysler Corporation in Tappan.
Jose was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Vietnam War; a member of St. Anastasia Church in Harriman; and a member of V.F.W. Post #8858 in Harriman.
Survivors include his loving wife, Anna V. Caamano Rios at home; son Joseph J. Rios ad his girlfriend Alexa Kaiser of Chester; daughter Danielle Matovic and her husband Michael of Rock Tavern; sisters Nilsa Santiago of the Bronx and Zeneida Valentin of Puerto Rico; nieces, nephews and cousins; and three grandchildren: Sean, Alaina and Juliana.
Visitation was held Sept. 22 at Smith, Seaman & Quackenbush, Inc. Funeral Home, 117 Maple Ave., Monroe.
A Funeral Mass was held Sept. 23 at St. Anastasia Shrine Church, 21 North Main St., Harriman.
Interment followed at St. Anastasia Cemetery in Harriman.
