Joan Rose White

    Joan Rose White of Monroe passed away on Monday, Dec. 21, 2020, at Valley View Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Goshen. She was 93 years old.

    The daughter of Samuel and Matilda (Gottlieb) Fischer, she was born on July 10, 1927, in New York City.

    In 1945, Joan married Sidney White, who passed away in 1989. She was also pre-deceased by her brother and sister-in-law Murry and Ruth Fischer, and her brother-in-law Philip White.

    In the 1960s Joan was an assistant editor at Prentice Hall. Later she and her husband were the owners of Monroe Antiques in Monroe.

    Survivors include her loving son Michael David White (Nancy Cunningham) and her two grandchildren, Seth Cunningham-White and Clark Cunningham-White, all of Holland, Michigan; her sister-in-law Dorothy White; and several nieces and nephews.

    To Joan, family was everything.

    Cremation has taken place at Cedar Hill Crematory in Middle Hope.

    A memorial service will take place in New York later this year.

    Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
