Helen G. Braunagel

Helen G. Braunagel of Monroe assed away on Saturday, Aug. 21, 2021, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern. She was 77 years old.

The daughter of Helen (Uniszkiewicz) and George Schneck, she was born on Oct. 3, 1943, in Queens, New York.

Helen was a school nurse for the Monroe-Woodbury School District in Central Valley.

She was an active participant in the Monroe community as a member of Sacred Heart Church, Lakeside Fire Company and the Lakeside Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary.

Survivors include her children: John A. Braunagel Jr. and his wife Kelly of Monroe; Richard J. Braunagel and his wife Renata of Monroe; Kenneth M. Braunagel and his wife Doreen of Monroe; and Donna M. Ebner and her husband James of Monroe. Additionally, she is survived by her brother George R. Schneck and his wife Joyce of Colonial Heights, Va.; ten grandchildren: Michael, Kimmy, Andrew, Jenna, Johnny, Jessica, Julia, Jamie, Emma and A.J; along with a brother-in-law Carl Braunagel and his wife Renie; brother-in-law Richard and his wife Ellie; brother-in-law Thomas Valentino; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins..

In addition to her parents, Helen was predeceased by her husband John A. Braunagel Sr. and by her sister Mary Valentino.

Visitation was held Aug. 24 at Smith, Seaman & Quackenbush, Inc. Funeral Home, 117 Maple Ave., Monroe.

A Funeral Mass was held Aug. 25 at Sacred Heart Church, 26 Still Road, Monroe.

Interment followed at Orange County Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Goshen.
