Grace ‘Nancy’ Castricone

    Grace “Nancy” Castricone of Lady Lake, Florida, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Jan. 21, 2021. She was 81 years old.

    Grace was born in the Bronx to Elizabeth and John Gibson. She was predeceased by her brothers William and Thomas Gibson and her sisters Elizabeth Thaxton and Margaret Newell.

    She is mourned by her beloved husband of 59 years, Daniel A. Castricone. She raised two children: her cherished son, Daniel G. Castricone (wife Marie) of Tuxedo, and deeply missed and adored daughter Susan Gage who predeceased her (husband Gregg) of Orlando, Florida.

    Grace had five treasured grandchildren: Daniel, Samantha and John Castricone and Emily and Robert Gage. She had many nieces and nephews, including Joseph and Darac Castelluccio, Lizanne Badolato and Paul Gibson.

    Grace was employed as a Registered Nurse by the State of New York and the Cornell Medical Center, specializing in drug and alcoholism counseling.

    Grace was bright, well read and socially engaging. She leaves behind many close friends. She had a beautiful voice and sang with the Sweet Adelines chorus. She was an avid golfer and loved to dance and entertain.

    Grace was an enthusiastic traveler having visited many countries in Europe and Asia including Italy, China and her ancestral roots in Scotland.

    Grace shared her time and gifts as a volunteer with Hospice. Her brave and generous spirit will be missed by all who knew her.

    A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Jan. 25 at St. Timothy’s Catholic Church in The Villages, Florida.

    A Memorial Service will be held at a later date in Mahwah, New Jersey.
