Floyd Victor Miclo passed away on Thursday, Feb. 4, 2021, at his residence in Suffern. He was 84 years old.
The son of Victor and Beatrice Wilson Miclo, he was born on Aug. 13, 1936, in New York City.
Floyd proudly served his country in the U.S. Marines from 1954 through 1958.
After his discharge, he started as a police officer in the NYPD and worked his way up the ranks into the original Special Tactical Patrol Forc, and onto Homicide Detective, ultimately retiring from the 52nd Precinct in the Bronx.
He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying fishing, hunting, golf outings and the beach.
He was an active member of the Detective Endowment Association, Inc., Blooming Grove Rod and Gun Club and the NRA.
Always a devoted, hard-working, dependable and generous man, Floyd had a relentless commitment to his family and faith as a Presbyterian.
Survivors include his wife Dolores Seda Miclo at home, his children: Denise Miclo and her fiancée Steve Atwell of Monroe; David Miclo of Suffern; Diane Estabrooks of Suffern; Pam Browne and her husband Brian of Warwick; and Penny Miclo of Los Angeles, California; as well as his five grandchildren: Emma, John, Julia, Ciara and Ava; his cousin Walter Miclo of the Bronx and many other beloved extended family members.
Services will be private for family members only.
