Charles G. Jones of Tuxedo passed away on Saturday, May 22, 2021, surrounded by his loved ones at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla.

Born on July 6, 1943, in Tuxedo, he was the son of Estelle (Puzon) and Garfield Jones.

A lifelong resident of Tuxedo, Charlie began his career with the Tuxedo Highway Department, and later became Superintendent of Highways. He retired in 1993.

After his retirement, he took a position with Peckham Industries in Brewster as a sales representative, where he continued to work until his passing.

Charlie joined Tuxedo Fire District, Company 1, serving as Fire Chief, Fire Commissioner and Chairman of the Board of Fire Commissioners, celebrating more than 50 years of service.

Charlie is survived by his son Darin Jones and his wife Michelle of Sloatsburg and by his grandson Daniel Jones. Also surviving are two sisters: Kathy Tripoli and her husband Joe of Tuxedo and Connie Berardi and her husband Wayne of North Stonington, Conn., in addition to several nieces and nephews.

He shared his life with numerous friends and work associates. He will be gravely missed by his family and all those who shared the light of his life.

In addition to his parents, Charlie was predeceased by his son Daniel Jones and by his sister Evelyn Hall.

Visitation for Charlie was held May 27 at Smith, Seaman, and Quackenbush, Inc. Funeral Home, 117 Maple Ave., Monroe.

A Funeral Mass was celebrated May 28 at Sacred Heart Church in Monroe.

Interment followed at St. Anastasia Cemetery in Harriman.
