Amelia “Amy” Frances (Feldner) Lawlor of Warwick passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on June 21, 2020. She was 69 years old.

Born July 12, 1950, in Warwick, she was the daughter of George M. and Sarah F. (née Sorrells) Feldner, Amy was a former member of the Warwick United Methodist Church and organist there since 1964. She was most recently the organist for the Sugar Loaf United Methodist Church.

A graduate of Warwick Valley High School and Drew University, Amy held a Bachelor of Arts in music and freely shared her talent to touch the hearts of many. Amy was an executive assistant at WVT Communications in Warwick and wrote the “Looking Back” column of the Warwick Valley Dispatch for many years.

She is survived by her three children: Matthew J. Lawlor and his wife Julia E. Brock of Keene, N.H.; Sarah A. Lawlor of Chester; and Amy E. Lawlor of Chicago, Ill. She will always be known as “The Best Oma Ever” by her three grandchildren: Amelia R., Ernest J. and Matilda E. Lawlor. Also surviving are three brothers: James H. Feldner and his wife Mary; Emmitt B. Feldner and his wife Teresa; and G. Martin Feldner and his wife Nydia. She was predeceased by her brother, Charles F. Feldner.

Visitation was held June 24, 2020 at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, in Warwick.

Cremation was private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her memory may be made to Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties, 800 Stony Brook Court Newburgh, NY 12550.

Due to the COVID-19 restrictions at the time of death, a memorial service is now planned for Sunday, Oct. 10, at 3 p.m. at the Sugar Loaf United Methodist Church, 1387 Kings Highway, Sugar Loaf. There will be light food to follow.

The service and fellowship will be fully masked, including singing. We will hopefully have some outdoor space available for enjoying food and fellowship but ask that you remain masked indoors at all times. We will also be broadcasting the service through Zoom so people can tune in while staying COVID-safe at home.
