The fourth annual Toys for Military Tots toy drive was launched by Orange County Community Radio WTBQ (1110 AM/93.5 FM) on Monday, Oct. 21.

Three years ago, station owner Frank Truatt and station manager Taylor Sterling conceived the idea after speaking with Orange County Executive Steve Neuhaus about the needs of the children of military both active and those of disabled veterans.

WTBQ Radio has once again teamed up with Neuhaus, Bob Caridi, president of the Nam Knights, Amanda Dana, director of Orange County Tourism, and many other supporters.

All the toys are to be delivered by Santa locally in the county.

The recipients are children of Orange County Disabled American Vets represented by Pete and Laura Rollins and children of active military and reserves stationed at Stewart Air Force Base represented by Master Sergeant Sara Pastorello.

The Toys for Military Tots drive has begun and everyone can help Santa deliver the unwrapped new toys for ages baby to 12 years old.

Extra wrapping paper and ribbons would also be appreciated.

The last day for drop off is Friday, Dec. 13.

“God bless you all,” said Sterling, “for sharing with those who sacrifice so much in order that we may enjoy the holidays with our families.”
