Orange County Legislator Steve Brescia has received the endorsement of the Orange County Deputy Sheriffs’ Police Benevolent Association for New York State Senate’s 39th District.

The seat is now held by Democrat James Skoufis.

Brescia, an Orange County Legislator since 1994 and mayor of Montgomery since 1990, has a strong record of supporting local law enforcement. As an elected official, he’s built a reputation for promoting public safety issues and has worked to consistently provide law enforcement with the resources it needs to keep our neighborhoods safe.

“We know that with experience, knowledge and public service make him the right candidate for the position,” said Orange County Deputy Sheriffs’ PBA President Jeremy Yela. “Steve is a dedicated civic leader in his community.

“Steve has always supported the Orange County Sheriff’s Office and its members during his tenure as Chairman of the County Legislature and we are pleased to return the same support,” Yela added. “We are certain he’ll move Orange County and New York State forward and wish him and his campaign the best of luck!”
