Eileen M. McKenna of Warwick passed away on Sunday, April 26, 2020, at home with her loving family by her side. She was 88 years old.

Born in Washington Heights, on Jan. 25, 1932, she was the daughter of Catherine (Walsh) and Patrick McKeon.

Sh was married to Patrick McKenna.

Eileen worked as a Registered Nurse her entire career, originally as an emergency room nurse before children and then became a school nurse for the Ringwood, N.J., Central School District, which enabled her the ability to work and raise five children during her career.

She also returned to college to complete her Bachelors of Nursing degree at this time.

She was a very dynamic woman who loved sports. As a teenager, she played high school basketball, winning many awards at Cathedral High School in Manhattan. As an adult, she was an avid golfer. She played in many leagues in Pennsylvania where she lived before moving to Warwick to be closer to her children. She also loved swimming, skiing, travelling and reading.

As a couple they had a wonderful life together and loved their Irish heritage. They met ceili dancing at the Gaelic League in New York City. The children and grandchildren inherited this love of the Irish culture, participating in the bagpipe band or Irish step dancing or singing.

Eileen and Patrick will be sorely missed.

Eileen is survived by her children: Maureen Brady and her significant other, Craig Shields, Hugh Brendan McKenna, Brian McKenna and his significant other, Susan Perry, Eileen McKenna-Hieb and her husband Michael, Patricia Pyatt and her husband Robert; grandchildren: Siobhan Brady, Meagan Brady, Brendan Patrick McKenna, Erin Hieb, Connor Pyatt and Liam Pyatt; sister Kathleen McKeon and brother Joseph McKeon; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband Patrick in 2015.

Private graveside services will be held in Prospect Cemetery in East Stroudsburg, Pa.
