Monroe Free Library seeks spooky pooches

Odin, aka “Fozzie Bear Dog,” invites everyone to Monroe Free Library’s "Howl-O-Ween Canine Costume Contest" from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26, at Crane Park.

Festivities include “Walk + Wag” costumed parades for small, medium and large breed dogs, with prizes awarded in each category, plus "Best in Show" and a few special categories.

Members of the MFL Board of Trustees will judge the contest; contestant dogs must be pre-registered and all dogs must be leashed.

Several vendors include Splash n’ Dash, PetSmart, Tail Waggin’ Treats, Love Bites and others will offer coffee, doughnuts, mac ‘n cheese, pulled pork and face painting.

The registration deadline for contestant dogs and vendors is Friday, Oct. 18.

Dogs register for $10 each, vendor tables are $25.

Cash or checks payable to Monroe Free Library will be accepted and proceeds benefit the library’s programs and services.
