Woodbury Common Premium Outlets is celebrating the holiday season with its fourth annual Tree Lighting, beginning at 6 p.m., Friday, Dec. 6.

American actress, Broadway star and singer Lexi Lawson - a Newburgh native - will join in the festivities, performing holiday music in the Hudson Valley District outside of Market Hall.

Lawson has held lead female roles in touring productions of "Rent" and "In the Heights." She debuted on Broadway as Eliza Hamilton in "Hamilton." She also starred in the 2019 Lifetime movie "Always" and "Forever Christmas."

Shoppers are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy to Woodbury Common’s Toys for Tots donation center at Guest Services in Market Hall that night.

Attendees of the tree lighting can also enter a contest to win a $1,000 shopping spree ($500 Simon gift card, plus $100 gift cards from Polo, Saks Off 5th, Nike, Lacoste and COS).

Santa will arrive via Woodbury firetruck with Woodbury police escort and be available for photos after the event and throughout the remaining holiday season at the Simon® Santa Photo Experience. Shoppers can enjoy delicious hot chocolate and sweet treats to keep the cold at bay.

The event, sponsored by Cornerstone Family Healthcare, will be emceed by radio station K104. It will also include performances from Victorian carolers, Allegro Youth Orchestra, M'Lanie Hunter Dance and more. Characters Elsa and Ana from "Frozen" will roam near the tree lighting, mingling with visitors. Kids can also get holiday airbrush tattoos and decorate ornaments they can take home.
