The following is a summary of the adult and family programing events scheduled at the Woodbury Public Library in October:

Art @ Your Library Virtual Gallery

Alyta Adams is the library’s Artist of the Month. Featuring works of both “Fine Art Mixed-Media Collage” and “Alcohol Ink on Porcelain Tile,” the display offers thought-provoking expressions in two unique mediums.

Woodbury Public Library outdoors

WPL welcomes Fall by offering a fresh set of outside literary inspiration. Enjoy “Poetry Promenade Series III” outside the Highland Mills branch located at 16 County Route 105 for the entire month of October. (Please practice social distancing while you view the displays.)

WPL Cafe ‘Happy Hour’ revisited

After a summer hiatus, the library is resuming its Virtual Social program on Fridays, Oct. 9 and Oct. 23, 6:30 to 8 p.m.

Join for either or both sessions and share some time with familiar faces online. Visit the library website for detailed Zoom information. Note: each session has a unique meeting link, meeting ID and password.

‘Collage-able’ craft program on Zoom

On Thursday, Oct. 15, from 6:30 to 8 p.m., an online craft event will be led by Anita Baumann, Adult Services Library Assistant. Supplies will be provided. Limited to to 10 adult participants. Pre-registration is required (wait-list registration will be available). Refer to the flier on the library website for complete instructions regarding this program.

‘Halloween: A Haunted History’ family program on Zoom

On Friday, Oct. 30, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., join the library for a chilling, thrilling and downright online spooky talk on the origins of “things that go bump in the night.” Kevin Woyce will share fascinating details on how we have adopted and adapted our current day Halloween traditions. Gather the family for this very special presentation. Registration is recommended.
