A great candidate: Carey Alley

I am writing to endorse, Carey Alley for the Trustee position for the Village of Monroe.
I have known Carey since 2006, when our daughters were in class together at Sapphire Elementary. At the time, she was acting PTA Treasurer. She has lived in Monroe her entire life, is actively involved in local community events, and runs her own business in the village.
As a lifelong third generation resident of Monroe, we have seen this community change and would like nothing more than for it to return to the way things used to be. Revitalizing the downtown with a well thought process and bringing back simple things like Village initiated events would bring the residents and their families out and re-establish the sense of community as we all once knew it.
Carey understands our first priorities for preserving and building on the many great assets our village currently has, and getting businesses and folks back down town. She is amazing at motivating people; she has great organizational skills, and is great with managing time lines and budgets.
Carey’s honest, pragmatic and hopeful insight into our community's problems and needs, and her willingness to examine the issues and listen closely to the public's questions and concerns, sets her far apart from the other candidates. She is not just a great human being; Carey would be a tremendous asset to the village.
I am proud to say that I have stood alongside Carey at numerous fund-raising events and community events that we have jointly organized. What I like about Carey is that she doesn't make empty promises without a plan. She’s creative and works with her resources to make things happen. She knows how to build and lead a team and never takes individual credit for things it took a team of people to do.
I highly recommend her without reservation and hope that all of my friends and neighbors will take the time to vote Smart Growth Party on March 20th.
