Lady Crusaders track team dominates Newburgh Central Valley. The Lady Crusaders track team celebrated Senior Day Tuesday by dominating the visiting Newburgh Goldbacks, winning 14 out of 18 events.

On a sunny Tuesday afternoon that turned to rain, the Crusaders celebrated Senior Day for its Track and Field team while hosting the Goldbacks of Newburgh. The Crusaders dominated the action winning 14 of the 18 events to come away with a 110.50-30.50 victory. The Crusaders Jody Smith took first in the 100 Meter Dash with a time of 12.50, and Angela Fini’s time of 1:01.40 captured first in the 400 meter Dash. Sarah Kern came in first in the 3,200 Meter run with a time of 11:17.10. Amelia Giraud took the 100 meter Hurdles with time of 15.90, and Gabby Nebiker took the 400 Meter Hurdles with a time of 1:08.50. Asalah Shaw,Taylor Leon, Sophia Guglielmello and Colleen Cytryn won the 4x400 meter Relay with a time of 4:30.80. Crusaders Ella DePhillips, Jessica Pidgeon, Abby Howell and Ava Turner combined for a time of 9:39.00 to take the 4x800 meter relay. Arealya Paul’s jump of 5-feet gave her first in the High Jump. Julia Pena and Gabby Nebiker both cleared 9' 6" to take the Pole Vault. The Long Jump was taken by Julia Pena with a leap of 16-00.75. Arealya Paul also took first in the Triple jump with a mark of 32-10.25. Jamie Waldron’s throw of 39-09.50 captured the Shot Put, and Jillian Gannon won the Discus with a throw of 85-02. Sarah beefed took the Hammer throw with a distance of 75-05. After the meet was over, and as a light rain fell, Girls Head Track Coach Bill Mpasiakos held a ceremony to honor the seniors on the girls track team as they had competed on their home track for the last time.
