Volunteers continue to put the final touches on the Korean War era F-86L jet and its surrounding area in Airplane Park in the Village of Monroe. A rededication of the jet, to now be a static display, is scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, at Airplane Park. The event culminates almost year's worth of work by the "Save the Airplane'"grass roots group to secure the village's approval to keep the jet, raise funds to cover restoration costs, seek out the involvement of local business, civic and community groups to be part of the effort, and get the actual work completed. These images show the before and after transformation of the jet.
