On Saturday morning, April 13, the Crusaders hosted the Cadets of La Salle Institute from upstate Troy.

The Crusaders entered the game with a 4-2 record, having beaten Middletown 16-1 on Friday afternoon.

The Crusaders took an early lead and, by the half, held a narrow 7-5 advantage.

The Cadets slowly worked their way back into the game in the second half.

And then, with just ten seconds left, they scored a goal to tie the game and send it into overtime.

In the first overtime, the teams took turns applying pressure to each other's goal tender but both teams came up empty.

Crusader goalie Dean Pesce played a solid game , recording 10 saves. In the two overtime periods, he came up huge, making several game-saving stops, including a few at point-blank range.

The Crusaders offense was lead by Jack Dembia (two goals and four assists); Owen Neubauer (three goals); and Timmy Philbin (two goals and one assist).

Finally, in the second overtime, Dembia brought the ball down the middle of the field, veering off to his right as he encountered defensive pressure.

He then popped the ball over the defenders to Neubauer, who buried the ball into the Cadets' goal to give the Crusaders an exciting overtime win.

The Crusaders' 10-9 victory brings their record to 5-2 on the season.

Their next game is scheduled for Wednesday, April 24, when they take on the Kingston High School Tigers at home.
