MONROE — Monroe Free Library is hosting its Spring Yard Sale on Saturday, April 13, from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
It will be the 21st community yard sale since the library began hosting them regularly in 2009.
More than 30 vendors have signed on to participate, which will fill the library's front lawn and portions of the parking lot. Expected wares are jewelry, clothing, toys, small appliances and other household sundries.
All money collected from vendor registration supports the library.
The Community Yard Sale is organized and executed by Inter-Library Loan Clerk Joanne Movrich. Movrich, Monroe Free Library's longest serving employee, hosts the yard sale twice a year.
"Before Joanne took over, we had a small yard sale here or there," Executive Director Marilyn McIntosh said, "but the history of the modern community yard sale - the one you can set your watch to - that starts with Joanne."
The yard sale will take place rain or shine.
The library will put out the call for vendors for the second yard sale in the fall.
