MONROE — On Monday night, March 11, the Monroe-Woobury Boys Varsity and Junior Varsity teams gathered at The Tequila Grill to celebrate their seasons.

The players and their families had dinner and the coaches gave recognition to the players for the effort this season.

JV Head Coach Patrick Tierney talked about his team's season and gave praise to the players effort during the season.

Next, Varsity Head Coach Dave Powers expressed his pride of the team's academic, sportsmanship and hard work during the season.

Varsity Assistant Coach James Hahn then gave out the varsity team awards for the 2018-2019 season:

Jack Dembia was given the Lunch Pail award for effort during the season;

Dan Quinones was given the most improved player award; and

Conor Coffey took home this year's MVP award.

The Crusaders will have to work hard during the offseason as they try to return to the playoffs after missing out this year.

The team will loose five players to graduation this year but have plenty of young players that are ready to step up and contribute next year.
