CENTRAL VALLEY — Allegro Youth Orchestra made a debut appearance in Warwick at Cafe a la Mode’s Open Mic Night on Friday, Jan. 25.
The space is limited, so three students, Max Hershkowitz and Gabby Paulino (violins) and Jack Sheehy (viola), along with their teachers Lise Lindros and Viktor Prizgintas, performed.
“We played the first movement from Mozart’s Symphony #12 which he wrote when he was himself a teenager and Over The Rainbow," Prizgintas said. “How great is it to have teens play what Mozart wrote as a teen at an Open Mic?”
The result was impressive with Allegro Youth Orchestra members invited to return for a fund-raising special at Cafe a la Mode on March 5, as well as an invitation to appear in Campbell Hall at Noble Roaster’s Open Mic.
Woodbury Common Premium Outlets has also opened its doors to AYO members to play in the Market Place every Thursday evening through the month of February from 6:15 to 7 p.m.
