Theresa C. Scheriff passed away Saturday, Feb. 2, 2019, at St. Anthony Community Hospital in Warwick. She was 84 years old.

The daughter of Salvatore Modesto and Yolanda Salerno, she was born Jan. 16, 1935, in Cornwall.

Theresa was the widow of Jerry Scheriff. She retired from E.A.B. of Carle Place.

Theresa was a member of the Red Hats Society of Sydney and Moose Lodge No. 277 of Sidney.

Survivors include her sons: Ronald Scheriff of Hawthorne, N.J., Robert Scheriff and his wife Patricia of Clearwater, Fla.; her brother Dominic Modesto of Vero Beach, Fla.; her sisters: Rose Marie Coppa of Pahrump, Nevada, and Dolores Modesto of Monticello; five grandchildren: Amanda, Jessica, Richie, Nicole and Brittany; and four great grandchildren: Jayden, Arianna, Damian and Eve.

Theresa was predeceased by her son Richard.

Visitation was held Feb. 6 at Smith, Seaman & Quackenbush, Inc. Funeral Home, 117 Maple Ave. in Monroe.

A Chapel Service also was held in the funeral home on Wednesday.

Cremation took place at Cedar Hill Crematory in Middle Hope.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the caring staff at The Valley View Center for Nursing Care and Rehabilitation in Goshen and St. Anthony Community Hospital in Warwick.
