Anthony J. Kressevich
Anthony J. Kressevich of Highland Mills passed away Thursday, Jan. 24, 2019, at Orange Regional Medical Center in the Town of Wallkill. He was 83 years old.
The son of Anthony and Teresa Kressevich, he was born May 25, 1935, in Brooklyn.
Tony proudly served the U.S. Army from 1958-1960. He attended St. John’s University and went on to work for NYPD. He ultimately worked the Harbor Patrol in City Island.
He was a founding member of the NYPD Scuba Unit and a member of the Bent Wheel Club with NYPD.
Anthony also worked as a local builder, realtor and insurance agent. He was a parishioner of St. Patrick’s Church in Highland Mills and a lifetime member of Knights of Columbus.
Anthony was a proud member of RSVP, who had been formally trained as a hobo/clown. For 11 years Tony visited people in hospitals to boost their spirits.
He is predeceased by his wife, Gloria J. Kressevich, and his identical twin brother, Emil Kressevich.
Survivors include his son Anthony Kressevich and his wife Lori of Campbell Hall; his daughter Karen Lee Powers and her husband Matthew of Highland Mills; Tony’s sister: Helen Locurto, formerly of E. Northport; and five grandchildren: Sean, Casey, Samantha, Anthony and Alexandra.
Visitation was held Jan. 28 at Smith, Seaman & Quackenbush, Inc. Funeral Home, 117 Maple Ave., Monroe.
A Funeral Mass was celebrated Jan. 29 at St. Patrick's Church, 448 Route 32, Highland Mills.
Interment followed at the Cemetery of The Highlands in Highland Mills.
