Crusaders dispatch Wizards 66-48 in varsity girls basketball to go up 10-1

CENTRAL VALLEY — On Tuesday night, Jan. 15, the Monroe-Woodbury Varsity Girls Basketball Team hosted the Washingtonville Wizards in an important mid-season match up.

The Crusaders entered the game with a 9-1 record while the Wizards' record stood at 7-4.

The Crusaders got off to 19-7 first quarter lead with Jamie Waldron scoring seven of her 20 points in the period.

The Crusaders took a 33-23 lead into the half as Melissa Alifano scored five points to keep the Wizards at bay.

In the third quarter, Toni Neely hit two three-point shots as the Crusaders increased their lead to 16 points.

The final quarter belonged to Taylor Neely as she scored 10 of her game-high 24 points, which included five three-point shots.

The Crusaders' 66-48 victory over the Wizards brings their season record to 10-1.
