CENTRAL VALLEY — On Monday night, Nov. 26, the Monroe-Woodbury Varsity Girls Basketball team held its final tune up in a scrimmage at home in Central Valley against the Marlboro High School Dukes.

The Crusaders look strong this year, having lost only one player to graduation.

With lots of depth and experience, this year's team looks to improve on the 2017-2018 season's 10-10 record.

Head Coach Pat Harris will be entering his third season with the Crusaders with a 33-11 record and one Section 9 title in hand.

Last year's leading scorer, Jamie Waldron, is returning for her junior season. She will be joined down low with senior Melissa Alifano, who just signed a National Letter of Intent with St. Thomas Aquinas College, and Kathleen Silverstein to give the team size depth on the boards.

Sharp-shooting twins Toni and Taylor Neely will be returning along with power forward Savanah Paul.

Emily Harwood, Mia Schoen and Cassie Hiner will add depth and experience to a strong group of forwards.

The Crusaders will get plenty of energy this year when Liz Allen, Alyx Sperling, Kiley Metcalf and Alexis Deleo enter the game.

The Crusaders will start their season on the road when they travel to Maopac to take on the Indians on Thursday.
