MONROE — Some members of the Monroe Police Department have participated in “No-Shave November.”
“For the officers and civilian staff who have participated, this has been a huge success," Administrative Sergeant Anthony Amatetti wrote in an email exchange with The Photo News, "and we already look forward to next November."
The goal of “No-Shave November” is to gain cancer awareness and raise funds to support cancer prevention, research and education.
“We look at this program as both a way to honor all of our loved ones that have been lost to this horrible disease and to give back to a community that has always been very supportive of our efforts,” Amatetti added. “On behalf of the Monroe Police Officers and civilian staff participating, the Monroe Police Benevolent Association will be making a donation to Orange Regional Medical Center Spagnoli Family Cancer Center.”
