Man charged with murder in fatal Monroe stabbing

MONROE — Police have arrested a man they say fatally stabbed a 25-year-old man in Monroe.
According to state police, Samuel Del Cid Hernandez, 31, of Monroe, was arraigned in Village of Monroe Court on Sunday and sent to Orange County Jail without bail. He is charged with second-degree murder.
Village of Monroe Police say they responded to a report at 3 a.m. on Saturday of a deceased male with multiple stab wounds in an apartment building at 20 Lake Street.
The victim was identified as Luis Rivera, 25, of Monroe.
State Police are working jointly with the Village of Monroe Police Department and the Orange County District Attorney’s Office on this investigation.
