WARWICK — Just in time for the holidays, the Love Local Holiday market is setting up shop on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 23 and 24 of November at the Warwick Valley Community Center, 11 Hamilton Ave. in the Village of Warwick.
Starting in 2016, Wickham Works set out to showcase the work of local artisans hand making quality products.
The market has now outgrown its original venue at Wickham Woodlands Manor.
Visitors can meet, learn about their work and buy unique gifts from more than 40 crafts people.
• These include Grassroots Leather artisan Derek Shortway who brings his finely hand-crafted leather bags, wallets and accessories to the market.
• The folks at Rosner Soaps are happy to tell you about the organic ingredients in their line of body care products.
• This year Whenhouse glass has added stemware to their line of hand blown glass jewelry and ornaments.
• L.C. Studios fun line of paper resin jewelry is fresh from its showcase at New York Fashion week.
• The innovative jams from Woodside Blue Preserves are made from local fruit, here in Warwick. The full line up of vendors can be found at Facebook Wickham Works.
• On Friday there will be blacksmithing and wood-carving demonstrations.
• On Saturday, John Cox from Quercus Cooperage will be on hand to talk about the ancient craft of barrel-making.
The market also features live music from area musicians, a children’s face-painting and craft area with make-&-take ornaments, delicious baked goods for sale and a 50/50 raffle.
Hours are from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. There is a suggested $3 donation per adult at the door, with proceeds going to support youth programming at the community center.
