The Crusaders entered the game as the No. 2 seed with a 5-3 record.

The two teams had met early in the season with the Crusaders taking 35-14 victory in Pine Bush.

The Crusaders offense took control of the game right from the start when Dylan Wynn scored on a 34-yard TD run on the team's first possession.

The Bushmen answered back when Xavier Martinez scored on a 42-yard TD run.

The Crusaders recovered the lead when QB Steve Campione hit Jack Dembia with a 37-yard touchdown pass and the first quarter ended with the Crusaders holding a 14-7 lead.

The Bushmen made it a one-point game when they scored on a short run after they intercepted a Crusader pass. The Crusaders blocked their extra point so the score stood at 14-13 early in the second quarter.

• Campione hit Danny Abrahams in stride on a 25-yard strike; and

• On the last play of the half, Mike Boyle kicked a 22-yard field goal that was set up by a Camron Adams interception.

The Bushmen opened the third quarter scoring with a one-yard touchdown.

But Crusader QB Campione who was having quite a day scored on a 64-yard football run and the Crusaders maintained their lead.

The Bushmen fought their way back down field and scored again.

But Campione answered them again, this time scoring on a 46-yard run.

Late in the third quarter, the Bushmen turned the ball over on downs, and with 58 seconds left Campione hit Alexander Jaoshvili with a 38-yard TD to give the Crusaders a 51-27.

The Bushmen scored their last points with 8:50 to go in the game on a nine-yard touchdown run.

Mastropolo ended the Crusaders scoring when he burst through the Bushmen’s defense and took off on a 65-yard TD run.
