Janet M. Stokdal

Janet M. Stokdal of Florida, N.Y., passed away Friday, Oct. 19, 2018 at Orange Regional Medical Center in the Town of Wallkill. She was 75 years old.
The daughter of Earl and Edith Stoothoff Van Houten, she was born Feb. 15, 1943, in Nyack.
Janet was a co-owner of O&J Construction of Florida, N.Y.
She also was a volunteer for Hospice in Round Rock, Texas, and volunteered for 15 years with Arden Hill Hospital of Goshen.
Survivors include her loving husband Odd Stokdal at home; her daughters: Julie Stearns of Florida, N.Y.; Lisa Sweeney of West Nyack and Susan Hock of Monroe; her son Michael Stearns and his wife Linda of Washingtonville; and her five grandchildren: Christine, Lora, Christopher, Nicholas and Colten.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 28, at Smith, Seaman & Quackenbush, Inc. Funeral Home, 117 Maple Ave., Monroe.
A Chapel Service will be held in the Funeral Home on Sunday at 3:30 p.m.
Cremation will take place at Cedar Hill Crematory in Middle Hope.
