SUGAR LOAF — If you’ve ever wondered about the love between a human and their pet, witness it firsthand at Sugar Loaf United Methodist Church’s annual Blessings of the Animals on Saturday, Oct. 13th from 3 to 4 p.m.

You will experience the unconditional love that abounds between humans and their fur babies. This service is sure to touch your heart.

The blessing will be at the church located at 1387 Kings Highway in the hamlet of Sugar Loaf.

"God created the earth and everything in it, including the animals of the land, sea and air," said Pastor Susan Chupungco. "For many, animals are more than pets and hold a special place in our lives as members of our family.

"This event is an opportunity to thank God for the gift of animals and to ask for a special blessing for the animals that enrich our lives in so many ways," the pastor added.

There will be a short service, followed by refreshments for the two-legged and four-legged guests.

Each pet will receive an individual blessing and a certificate.

Essentials• Joining the heart-warming event again this year with some of the animals available for adoption will be the Warwick Valley Humane Society.
