Super Lawyers recognizes four Jacobowitz and Gubits attorneys as 2018 Rising Stars

WALDEN — Four lawyers with the firm of Jacobowitz and Gubits in Walden have been recognized by Super Lawyers as 2018 Upstate New York Rising Stars: Kelly A. Pressler, senior counsel; Jennifer S. Echevarria, associate; Alanna C. Iacono, associate; and Andrea L. Dumais, senior counsel.
These four women offer a wide range of legal services:
• Dumais, a resident of Orange County, has been recognized as a Leadership Orange and Junior League of Orange County Rising Star in 2016. She concentrates in matrimonial law, family law and criminal law.
• Echevarria, a resident of Warwick, is the firm’s Spanish-speaking attorney; she has been recognized as a 2015 Leadership Orange and Junior League of Orange County Rising Star, received the Public Service Attorney Award in 2015 from the Women’s Bar Association of Orange and Sullivan Counties (WBAOSC), is on the Board of Directors of the YMCA of Middletown and is WBAOSC’s delegate to the Women’s Bar Association of the State of New York’s Legislation Committee. She concentrates on employment and immigration law.
• Iacono, a resident of Ulster County, is on the board of the Southern Ulster County Chamber of Commerce and is on the advisory board of the Samuel Dorskey Museum of Art at SUNY New Paltz, She focuses on elder law, real estate including landlord-tenant and foreclosures.
• Pressler, a resident of Montgomery, is vice president of the Women’s Bar Association of the State of New York, treasurer of the Women’s Bar Association of Orange and Sullivan Counties, was recognized as the 2016 Outstanding New Lawyer by the Women’s Bar Association of Orange and Sullivan Counties, and is a recent graduate of the Leadership Orange program. She concentrates on general civil litigation and complex commercial litigation.
The process• The selection process for the Rising Stars list is the same as the Super Lawyers selection process, with one exception: To be eligible for inclusion in Rising, Stars, a candidate must be either 40 years or younger, or have been practicing for ten years or less.
• Super Lawyers uses a patented vetting process that is based on peer nominations and independent research among twelve key categories.
• Nominations are extensive and the Rising Stars list makes up only 2.5 percent of the original pool of candidates.
