Voters who live in the area that will become the Town of Palm Tree will elect 10 people in November to represent them when the new municipality opens for business in January 2019.

The offices are:

• Town Supervisor, town clerk and superintendent of highways will be elected for initial one-year terms.

Following that, supervisor, clerk and highway superintendent will face election every two years.

• Four people will serve on the Town Board.

Two members will be elected for one-year terms, while the other two members will be elected for three-year terms.

After that, service on the town board will be for a four-year term of office.

• Two town justices will be elected for initial one-year terms.

Subsequent terms of office will be for four years each.

• Receiver of Taxes and Assessments will be elected for an initial term of three years.

Subsequent terms of office will be for four years.

• Meanwhile, an assessor will be appointed by the Town Board. That office will carry a six-year term.
