Orange County turns green this St. Patrick’s Day

GOSHEN — Look no further than Orange County for fun and memorable events to bring out the Irish in you this St. Patrick’s Day.
Drinks, live music and parades are just some of the festivities to celebrate during your March Hudson Valley getaway weekends.
Orange County Tourism’s staff recommends taking a look at their full events calendar to explore additional happenings for your Irish holiday. There’s plenty to keep your Irish eyes smiling all month long.
Some St. Patrick’s Day events in Orange County include:
• St. Patrick’s Parade: Town of Highlands, Saturday, March 3: Parade down Main Street, Highland Falls at 2 p.m.

• St. Patrick’s Day Open House Workshop, Harness Racing Museum and Hall of Fame, 240 Main Street, Goshen, Sunday, March 11, 11 a.m.- 1 p.m. Families with children ages 3-12 can engage in festive activities, including crafts and horse-themed games, or take a ride on the Harness Racing 3D Simulator prior to the Mid-Hudson Saint Patrick’s Parade.

• Mid-Hudson St. Patrick’s Parade, Goshen, Sunday, March 11: Parade lineup begins at 1 p.m. at the Orange County Government Center parking lot in Goshen. Parade steps off at 2 p.m.

• St. Patrick’s Day Snakes, Wildlife Education Center at Hudson Highlands Nature Museum, 120 Muser Drive, Cornwall, Saturday, March 17, 10-11 a.m.
Legend says that Ireland has no snakes because St. Patrick chased them into the sea. Museum educators will separate fact from fiction and provides kids with a craft to take home.
