MONROE — Putnam Valley Farms has been a market staple in Monroe for three years, featuring fresh hand-made artisan and sourdough breads. Using a sourdough culture he obtained from the "old country" in Italy, Angelo Acierno crafts his loaves with the care and attention of a master craftsman. You can find a great variety of breads at Putnam Valley Farms' stand at the Village of Monroe Farmers Market, including semolina, sourdough, baguettes, rye and brioche. Come to the market early as Angelo sells out just about every week. The Village of Monroe Farmers Market is held every Sunday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., now until Nov. 18, at the commuter parking lot on Millpond Parkway.
