NEWBURGH — This past Saturday evening players, coaches and families from the Monroe-Woodbury baseball program held signs, waved flags and cheered on the World War II and Korean veterans who returned home from Mission 19 of the Hudson Valley Honor Flight.
“This is an event I personally look forward to every year," said Varsity Baseball Coach Chris Vero. "Getting the kids out in the community and learning about our country's past is a wonderful experience for the kids. The looks on the veterans faces when they see the boys in uniform is priceless. It’s one of the best events we take part in during the season."
