Monroe Republican: James Skoufis 'is one of us'

| 18 Oct 2018 | 05:35

I'm a Monroe Republican voting for James Skoufis. Let me tell you why.
James Skoufis, from Day One, has shown guts and passion for his hometown of Monroe.
When the first announcement of an annexation took place, James Skoufis was the first elected official to take a stand against the unlawful annexation, and he was not even our Assembly representative.
He did it because he's one of us.
He's a Monroe-Woodbury grad and this is his home.
I feel like he's one of few elected officials that I can call up and voice a concern to and get a straight answer.
James amazes me with his knowledge of the issues here in Monroe and in Woodbury, quite unlike his opponent, who could have done the same work for us during that time but was nowhere to be found.
James attempted to get Gov. Cuomo to sign legislation to protect communities against annexations as well.
While he stuck his neck out for us in the Assembly, Tom Basile was a no-show.
Therefore, I can think of no other person, regardless of party affiliation, that I would want as our State Senator.
Please join this Republican in voting for James Skoufis on November 6th.
