MONROE — Chris Whipple, a filmmaker and writer and the author of the New York Times best-seller, "The Gatekeepers: How the White House Chiefs of Staff Define Every Presidency," will appear at Museum Village in Monroe on Thursday, April 12, from 5:30 to 8 p.m.

The chiefs of staff, often referred to as "the gatekeepers," wield tremendous power in Washington and beyond. They decide who is allowed to see the president, negotiate with Congress to push the president's agenda, and have unlimited access to the president.

Through extensive interviews with 18 living chiefs and two former presidents, Whipple's book offers analysis and never before reported details which he believes offer insight into what he says is one of the toughest jobs in Washington.

Seating is limited and there is a $10 donation per person to a spot.
