The Smart Growth Party is beholden soley 'to the people are the Village of Monroe'

Election Day for the Village of Monroe is fast approaching. On Tuesday, residents will be asked to choose the people in whom they will place their trust to lead the Village forward. Inferences have been made recently that the Smart Growth Party is beholden to a group of individuals.
We could not agree more.
Over the last three months, we have had some amazing opportunities to speak with residents in the Village of Monroe. They have asked and we have shared our ideas for revitalizing the Downtown. They have asked and we shared our plan for addressing our infrastructure and assets in the Village. They have asked and we have shared our plans for protecting our resources and historical buildings. They have asked and we have offered our vision for open government. More importantly, we have listened. We’ve heard stories from longtime residents about the Monroe they remember, some as children and others as young parents. We’ve spoken with new residents about their reasons for choosing to live in the Village of Monroe. We have learned so much through these conversations; they have kept us energized and razor focused on the ways to address those concerns. These conversations have confirmed for us the reasons we are running.
We have found that the Village of Monroe is so much more than its buildings, the ponds and gazebo. It’s more than zoning laws. The very heartbeat of the Village is found within the people who live, work, play and own businesses here. The people are the Village of Monroe.
So in fact, the people, the residents, are the individuals to whom we are beholden.
You see, we already made our choice. We have chosen to stand up for and represent the residents of the Village:
To be their ears to listen for the change that is needed;
To be the voice for that change, consistently and on point;
To be the guiding force for that change, always moving forward;
To always put the integrity of the people first in all matters of their Village lives.
Our community is comprised of all age groups, particularly the seniors and children who call Monroe home. We are fully committed to working with our senior population, addressing their needs for a safe environment to live in and partnering with our neighboring Village and Town to promote enhanced services to provide a better quality of life. As the needs of our seniors increase we pledge to look for solutions to those needs, identifying through partnerships and a broader community of experts, ways that we can help. Cooperating with companies like the AARP and showcasing their offerings in a “Senior Fair” we will create accessibility to businesses, recreation and expanded communication, helping them navigate through the challenges unique to seniors. Our seniors dedicated their younger days to provide us with a quality upbringing. It’s time we repay that debt and provide them with the quality of life they deserve.
In addition to the opportunities provided to our youth through the school district, we will collaborate with the joint parks and recreation programs and our young people to expand our offerings, identifying and promoting growth wherever possible, to offer additional opportunities which will further their interests and broaden their experiences. Including our young people in the plans for our Village will promote civic responsibility as we capture their energy and validate the importance of their opinions.
As we wind down to Election Day on March 20th we ask for your support to allow us the opportunity to continue the path of a New Vision by electing us as Mayor and Trustees for your Village of Monroe.
